This unknown button was found on the north side of the circle drive under the oak tree.
This flat button was found on the southwest corner of the property in the treeline. I was told by the Conservator of Archaeological Materials of the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, "this type of button dates from the 2nd to 4th quarter of the 18th century".
This flat button was found off the northeast corner of the circle drive under the pecan tree. This button is believed to date back to the late 18th century, and as you can see the shank is broken.
This is a picture of the two flat buttons above from the front with a quarter to demonstrate their size. The larger one on the left is the top button with the shank intact, and the one on the right is pictured just above with the broken shank.
Pictured above is a small flat button with the shank missing, this was found about five feet on the west side of the pecan tree.
This ball button (age unknown) is broken on the back with no shank, it was found under the large magnolia tree in the flower garden south of the house.
This unknown object was found under the first set of boxwood's just west of the house.
