Federal Infantry silver plated Officer's coat button from the War of 1812. This button was found just south of the house under the large magnolia tree about 8 inches down.
This is what civil war soldiers often used as a pencil. It is a stick of lead sharpened to a point on one end. This will work as a pencil to write letters to the folks back home with. This is a great example of the early "lead pencil", I found this one on the Southwest corner of the property between the tall magnolia tree and the tree line. |
This is a very unique flat button because of the unusual shank on the back, I dug this one in the south west corner of the property just south of the tall magnolia tree.
